Dear GMBA students,
as you know in these days (October 11-13) we are working for the EFMD re-accreditation of our lovely programme, and many of you are involved in different roles and meetings. Thanks a lot for your cooperation and commitment, and for the great value you are showing in these meetings.

I am now sending a message on behalf of Joseph Gaylord, an alumnus of 2019-2020’s class who is organizing an interesting initiative in November in Bologna that he has the pleasure to share with us..

I fully support this initiative and encourage your participation if possible.

Thanks a lot Joe.

Marcello

Dear BBS Students and Alumni,

I wanted to let you and know about the AfriConEU Brokerage Event, a free 2 day gathering focused on supporting connections between the African and European innovation ecosystems. The event will be November 2 and 3 in Bologna, Italy, with parallel events in several African countries.

I'm attaching a presentation. You can see all the details on the AfriConEU website<https://africoneu.eu/brokerage-event/> and register via our Eventbrite<https://www.eventbrite.pt/e/africoneu-brokerage-event-tickets-384850166207>.

I thought you would be particularly interested because of the work BBS does to connect the African and European innovation and business ecosystems and the diverse group of students in the GMBA network.

AfriConEU is an EU Grant funded project that aspires to create the first Trans-Continental Networking Academy to support African and European DigitaI Innovation Hubs in capacity building, knowledge sharing, networking, collaboration, joint projects, and venture development.

The Brokerage Event is the first major international meeting AfriConEU is organizing. Our goal is to bring together 200+ actors from Africa, Europe, and the African diaspora. The participants will include diverse members of their respective innovation ecosystems, investors, academia, entreprepreneurs, hub leaders, and the public and private sectors.

Day one will feature round table and individual presentations on the status of key sectors in African innovation, edtech, tech for development, agritech, and fintech. Day two will focus on interactive conversations about major themes related to the issue of Afro-European collaboration. Throughout both days there will be ample opportunities for participants to network, meet, and collaborate.

Beyond the brokerage event, we are organizing a series of workshops, webinars, and masterclasses on key topics for hubs and the innovation ecosystems they support. We will also organize a series of design thinking bootcamps next summer to gather hands-on grassroots project ideas, and a final event in the second half of next year.

I would be honored if you'd be willing to join. If you need any further information, let me know.

Thanks,
Joe
