Dear MBAs,
I am respectfully writing to inform that, from the next week, BBS has started an experimentation concerning the use of Zoom as an alternative teaching platform than Ms Teams. The reason of this experimentation is mainly due to the possibility, through Zoom, of a better management of the camera/visualisation of the students and the creation of breakout rooms for teamwork and exams.
In particular, the possibility to see participants' cameras in a higher number (Teams has a limitation of 4 cameras activated) has been proved to enhance the lecturer’s satisfaction in the online environment but also the interaction among the students. As you know, this is a practice we are highly encouraging to facilitate interaction among the students.
The Global MBA has been selected as the Master to launch this experimentation for the area of full-master, and a similar process has been launched this week in the Corporate MBA Ferrari. We will adopt Zoom in all non-track specific courses and on Monday’s for our leadership talk (all the track specific courses will continue to be delivered as usual via Teams). The reason is that we want to test the efficacy of this platform when a significant number of students are connected.
How to access Zoom?
* Elena has included a link redirecting to the Zoom virtual classrooms and the necessary password to join it in the "note section” of each Class Meeting that is present in your Outlook Calendar.
* The first time you access it, you will be asked to download the Zoom software on your computer (5 minutes) or you can access it through your phone and/or tablet by downloading the specific app.
At the end of the week (Thursday April 30), I will be ask you to complete a quick survey to collect feedback on the user experience and preferences. We are doing a similar test also on Cisco WebEx.
Kind regards and wishing you all a good weekend,
Marcello
